Getting connected, which projectors work, how purchases and restore behave, and how the app treats your privacy. Still stuck? Reach the developer in the community, or tap Send Feedback in the app.
Projector Pilot talks to your projector directly on your network. Three things get you connected, and one of them trips most people up.
The phone and the projector must be on the same network and subnet. Guest networks, IoT VLANs and some mesh setups isolate devices from each other, so a projector on the "IoT" SSID cannot be reached from your phone on the main one. Put both on the same network.
Network control has to be turned on at the projector. In the projector's network menu, enable PJLink and Web Control (Epson calls the latter the web remote / Web Control). With network control off, the projector simply does not answer.
The app scans your network for projectors, and you can also add one by IP. To find the IP, open the projector's network information screen in its own menu - it lists the current address. If your scan comes up empty, add that IP by hand.
Epson projectors have three separate passwords: Web Control, PJLink and Remote. They are not the same field, and a projector can want one, some or none of them. Enter the ones your projector asks for; the app works out which the projector actually requires and connects either way, and Diagnostics tells you which path was used. If a projector answers without needing a password, the app says the saved password was not needed here rather than claiming none is set.
Yes. Pro, the Home Automation add-on and the bundle are all one-time purchases. No subscription, no ads, no account. See pricing.
Sign in to the same store account you bought on and use Restore Purchases in the app. One purchase unlocks every platform you own - Android, iOS, Windows and macOS - tied to that store account.
It should not, and newer builds fix exactly that. If the store reports Pro, Home Automation or the bundle as already owned, the app grants it and quietly refreshes your purchases, so buying or restoring something you already own always unlocks it.
The app shows the store's price, in your own currency, before you confirm. Regional pricing differs, and the app never falls back to a hard-coded figure - if the store has not answered yet it says so rather than inventing a number.
Projector Pilot is a local app. It talks to your projector on your network, and there is nothing to sign up for.
