Projector Pilot highlights

The highlights of Projector Pilot for the first production release, grouped by what you do with the app. Every line here is in the app today. Store listings are coming soon.

• Sync With HA builds your whole dashboard, not just the scripts. A step-by-step guide on the Home Assistant screen shows the one setup step Home Assistant still makes you do yourself.
• Works with the integrations you already have, including the core PJLink integration. Cards are upgraded to the richer HACS ones when they are installed.
• A setup checklist shows which steps are done, which are missing and what to do next, and Check again tells you what it found.
• A last-known sensor keeps your readings in Home Assistant while the projector is off, and a power-off reaches Home Assistant as off.
• The command block says when it carries a projector password, and the add-integration step shows the PJLink host and port. Nothing installed? Paste everything by hand.
• Remove orphaned scripts lists what it will remove and asks first.
• Copy dashboard builds a board for your own projector's controls, with lamp or laser hours labelled to match.
• Sign-in from the in-app browser completes, and works over plain HTTP on your own network.

• A projector switcher in the top bar of every projector page moves you between projectors without going back to the list.
• Turning the projector off asks first.
• Lens shift, focus, zoom and the light-output stepper respond the instant you press, with no flicker. A press that lands while one is still sending is dropped rather than queued.
• The app notices the projector turning on within about ten seconds, and says it is checking instead of showing a false off on reopen.
• Firmware version shows on the Dashboard and the Info tab, and in the diagnostics report, whenever the projector reports it.
• A step-size selector on the Lens page, from fine to coarse. Lens controls no longer show as locked when they are not.
• Input switching works on projectors that only list inputs over PJLink, such as the TW7300 and Home Cinema 4040, and on non-Epson PJLink projectors.
• A scene wakes a projector in standby over PJLink and waits for its replies before the next step. Saving a scene lets you tick which parts to keep.

• Add Projector leads with a scan of your Wi-Fi or wired network for anything answering as a projector, and fills in the address. Typing an IP still works.
• A progress bar climbs from 0 to 100 percent while your model's capabilities are discovered. A projector is scanned once and remembered.
• Color Mode, Brightness and Contrast show real values right away after adding.
• The TW7300 and Home Cinema 4040 and the 5050UB are recognized.

• English plus 28 translations, with a Language setting and right-to-left layout for Arabic and Hebrew. Permission prompts on iPhone, iPad and Mac appear in your language too. See the language list.
• Android, iOS, Windows and macOS.
• Sharing a log, report, scene or backup works on iPad, and the backup file is shared under its real name.
• Report a Bug builds one bundle with every relevant log, ready to send.

• Optional usage analytics are off by default. The app asks once, and you can change it any time in Settings › Privacy.
• The three projector passwords (Web Control, PJLink and Remote) are verified on the wire against a real projector, and a diagnostics line no longer claims a projector has no password when it simply did not need one.
